Job Description

To ensure our client's audio-visual systems deliver optimal business benefits across the organisation and meet the current and future informational needs of the audio-visual department. The AV manager will lead from a technical perspective all AV events requirements liaising with the event team and directly with customers.

MAIN DUTIES:

• To lead from a technical perspective on AV maintenance contracts, advising line management and seeking approval;
• Ensure regular maintenance is carried out on AV equipment in all spaces in line with the AV maintenance contract;
• Day to day management of the AV budget;
• Manage AV financial requirements by gathering quotes, purchases and billing with approval from line manager;
• Direct management of freelance AV technicians;
• Line management and development of the AV Technician and AV apprentice;
• Lead weekly AV operations meetings with a view to formulating staff requirements and technical requirements for the weekly events scheduling forecast;
• Work with the Head of IT to identify service improvements;
• Oversee the AV Incident process as per client internal and external processes and to agreed SLAs;
• Responsibility for management of AV support
• Manage the relationship with the Clio to provide a saleable, modern AV service;
• Work with the Clio to integrate seamlessly processes between Clio and AV to ensure continuity of experience to internal and external customers.
• Deal in an efficient and professional way with staff and external AV enquiries, making technical recommendations in a jargon free and easy to understand way;
• Setup, support and maintain all the AV systems including video conferencing systems, hybrid AV equipment and digital displays.
• Provision of ad-hoc guidance, regular training and training materials to Clio, Facilities and any other appropriate staff in relation to AV equipment and processes;
• In the event of a service failure, to manage incidents regarding the issue at hand, engaging the service team for break/fix items if necessary, and following through to resolution;
• Liaise and plan with third party suppliers for the provision of AV technical support;
• Owning the AV Configuration items (CIs) in Configuration Management Database, ensuring all assets are kept up to date, including their state, maintenance schedule and refresh requirements;
• Documentation and maintenance of AV process and procedure;
• Continual improvement of the AV provision in both technical and process related areas;
• Experience of set-up, operation, and de-rig of all the AV equipment necessary from small to large complex events.
• Assisting Head of IT and Head of Facilities with business continuity and disaster recovery planning
• To consult and advise Head of IT with technical information and where necessary offer recommendations;
• Evaluating in a structured way new hardware, versions of software, including emerging technologies such as remote access, virtualisation, mobile features, security, network efficiency, AV and IT infrastructure and providing recommendations to Head of IT.
• Manage when requested AV and IT infrastructure and software projects
• Written & Verbal communication with clients and suppliers
• Arrangement of meetings where required
• Management of projects using accepted methodologies
• Presenting project findings and recommendations to both Head of IT and Director of Resources

Experience & Qualifications
• Experience of Live event AV set-up, support, and de-rig of all AV equipment necessary from small to large events. Including operating a range of equipment e.g., laptops, data projectors, PTZ cameras, digital microphones, mixing consoles, hybrid VC systems, video and audio recording equipment.
• Experience of delivering high quality customer service for both Live events and End user support, i.e. BAU.
• CTS or equivalent qualifications.

Knowledge
• Demonstrated knowledge of networked-audio interface (DANTE and AVB)
• Demonstrated knowledge IT software (Windows, Mac OS, Adobe Premiere Pro, Ms Office, Prezi).
• Experience of configuration and set up of AV over IP technologies.

Skills
• Experience of set-up, operation, and de-rig of all the AV equipment necessary from small to large complex events.
• Familiarity with Soundcraft, Mackie and Allen&Heath mixing consoles.
• Advanced user of digital wireless microphone systems (Shure and Sennheiser)
• Video editing using Adobe Premiere CC.
• Operation of Panasonic and BirdDog Eyes PTZ cameras.
• Experience using Zoom & MS Teams, OBS, Wirecast, vMix.
• Advanced user of Windows and Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with Mac OS.
• Excellent communication skills, flexible, organized and punctual.
